The community of Abayi Okoroato in Obingwa Local Government Area was plunged into mourning yesterday following the tragic death of a young woman in a motorcycle accident.
The deceased, identified as Chisom, aged around 20, reportedly lost control of the motorcycle she was riding, crashing into a building wall. The impact caused severe head injuries, resulting in her death despite efforts to save her life at a nearby hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, Chisom had taken her uncle’s motorcycle for a ride despite his warnings about its poor condition. Overcome with excitement during his visit, she ignored his pleas and sped off on the bike. Tragically, her high speed caused her to lose control, leading to the fatal collision.
The incident has left the community in shock and grief, as residents lament the loss of such a young life in a preventable accident.
Local authorities have reminded residents to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures when using motorcycles to prevent similar tragedies.
