The leadership of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Abia State chapter, convened an Emergency State Executive Congress few hours ago to deliberate intensively on the agreement they had with the leadership of the House and members of the Assembly Service Commission including the Assembly Management at Speaker’s lodge yesterday Wednesday 18th February 2025.
After discussion, the leadership unanimously resolved as follows;
1. That the ongoing Abia PASAN Indefinite Strike be immediately suspended for 7 working days with the effect from tomorrow Thursday 20th of February 2025.
2. That the suspension is to enable the office of the Head of Service to return all the files of our members as we agreed during our meeting with the leadership of the House.
3. That the Union awaits the Governor’s approval on Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS) after the cost implementation must have been provided as agreed in the meeting.
4. The Union further believed that the leadership of the House, will then fulfil the promise they made during the meeting within this period of suspension.
5. That all our members should immediately return to their various duty posts from tomorrow
