At least seven people have lost their lives in a tragic accident in Anambra state, with many others feared trapped in the wreckage.
According to eyewitnesses, a lorry collided with six vehicles, including two tricycles, two Hiace vans, and a private vehicle, around 10 am in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, along the Onitsha-Owerri expressway.
The lorry was allegedly being chased by government agents, a claim debunked by Governor Charles Soludo’s press secretary, Chris Aburime.
Aburime attributed the accident to the activities of “agberos” (touts) in the area, a persistent issue the Soludo administration has been addressing.
He assured that those responsible for the accident would be apprehended and face justice, emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving lives.
