…At The Right Time,The Real People Of Old Bende Will Speak

Our attention has been drawn to a Civic Reception/ Endorsement planned by a group known as “Old Bende Progressive Union” (O.B.P.U.)in honour of Governor Alex Otti.
A closer look at O.B.P.U. shows that the group is a small gathering of opportunists and retirees who use the name ” Old Bende” to play politics of self aggrandizement, promising political leverage from Umuahia down to Arochukwu and even into some parts of Ebonyi State in exchange for pecuniary reward.
While everyone is entitled to freedom of association and can register any group of their choice with the Corporate Affairs Commission,we want to place it on record that the so called “Old Bende Progressive Union” does not speak for the people of Old Bende. It is an insignificant group that is self serving, and at the disposal of the highest bidder for the purpose of executing political hatchet jobs.
While we congratulate Governor Alex Otti on his civic reception and endorsement by O.B.P.U.,we want to remind him that this group does not and cannot speak for the totality of the illustrious people of Old Bende.
Instead of squandering state resources on questionable, inconsequential civic receptions and premature endorsements, those resources should be utilised to site tangible projects in Old Bende and other parts of Abia State.
Let the “Old Bende Progressive Union”go and collect their own money on Friday 31st October 2025 .
It is too early to start buying and selling endorsements for 2027.
At the right time, the real people of Old Bende will speak.
