In a heartrending incident, a newborn baby has been rescued after being abandoned in a forest in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“A newborn baby has been rescued in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State after being abandoned in a forest,” reports say.

According to a source, residents are currently rehabilitating the baby.

The source stated, “We believe the baby might have been left in the forest for about two days before being found.”

“The baby is in good condition; he is stable,” the source added.

A trending online video supports the report.

In the video, local midwives are seen caring for the baby while criticizing those who abandoned him.

The women, along with a man recording the video, questioned how someone could carry a baby for nine months only to abandon them.
