Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has signed an Executive Order establishing the Enugu International Motor Spare Parts and Allied Traders Park in Nsude, Udi Local Government Area, and Ogwofia Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area. This move officially relocates the decades-old Coal Camp Spare Parts Market and other allied trades from the Enugu Capital Territory to a modern commercial hub along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.
Announcing the development, Governor Mbah described the initiative as a transformational step towards fulfilling a long-standing promise to traders. “For decades, our traders have been promised a modern market that meets international standards, but those promises remained unfulfilled. Today, we are changing that story,” he stated.
The new market, designed as a world-class commercial center, will feature essential infrastructure, including clinics, fire service stations, truck parks, warehouses, and ample parking spaces. Traders will have ownership of their shops instead of paying rent, and the market will be complemented by modern residential areas, smart schools, healthcare centers, a police station, and recreational spaces.

Governor Mbah, who signed the Executive Order in the presence of leaders of the Enugu Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association, emphasized that the relocation aligns with his administration’s vision to strengthen Enugu’s economic base. He lauded the traders for their cooperation and expressed optimism that the project would stimulate business growth along the emerging 9th Mile business corridor, a key driver in the state’s push for a $30 billion GDP economy.

“I appreciate the support of the Enugu Motor Spare Parts Dealers Association, led by Chief Michael Nomeh. This strategic move is part of our broader vision for Enugu’s economic growth,” the governor added.
With construction and infrastructure development underway, the government expects a seamless transition for traders into the new facility in the coming months.
