Nigerian billionaire and entertainment figure, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, has issued a stern warning to Nigerians against the abuse of the Naira, particularly the common practice of spraying money at social events.
In a public statement posted on his verified Instagram account on Thursday, E-Money urged Nigerians to respect the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)‘s ongoing campaign against currency abuse.
“Let’s celebrate responsibly and avoid fines. Respect our currency!” he stated, adding that “If you must give money at a party, put it in a bowl, basket, or container. Do not drop any currency on the floor.”
E-Money’s advisory comes amid reports of his recent questioning by the EFCC over alleged violations involving the spraying of Naira and U.S. Dollar at public functions. He emphasized that ignorance of the law is not an acceptable defense, and urged fans and celebrants to obey legal guidelines during parties and ceremonies.

The EFCC has consistently warned that spraying or mutilating Naira notes is a criminal offense under Nigerian law. Offenders risk arrest, prosecution, and fines.
E-Money’s call reinforces the growing awareness campaigns aimed at preserving the integrity of Nigeria’s currency and reducing financial misconduct during public celebrations.
