At the Extraordinary Special Meeting of the Club 17 Peace Initiative held Tuesday, January 21, 2025; Chief Engr George Nnanna Kalu has reaffirmed that Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives is a Beacon of Hope to the South East Geo-political zone, comprising, Abia State, Imo State, Anambra State, Ebonyi State and Enugu State.
Speaking at the meeting to those present, Nnanna-Kalu stated that the year 2025 portends awesomeness, great things of Immense positiveness coming to the South East Zone and that Club 17 Peace Initiative is already playing a significant leading role ensuring that Abia State and indeed the South East Geopolitical Zone will always receive amplified mention on the sharing table of the National Cake especially with the illustrious sonship of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja.
He pointed out that the extraordinary special meeting was convened to highlight the way forward as well as to review the activities of the previous year.
The State Working Committee Members, LGA Coordinators, and Members of the Club 17 Media Team of the 17 Local Government Areas were inaugurated and charged to mirror the activities, Achievements and Movements of Deputy Speaker to the global stage. He reiterated that our principal, was delighted with the operations of the leadership of Club 17 Peace Initiative which has completed and secured its Registration with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and opening of a Bank Account. He also stated Club 17 will soon be inaugurated in other states of the South East Zone beginning with Enugu State and Anambra States, Imo and Ebonyi States following.
In their various speeches during the interactive session, leaders and Stakeholders affirmed their support for the Leadership of Club 17 Peace Initiative under the Profound Chairmanship of Hon. Chief Engr George Nnanna-Kalu and his able team. They extolled his transparent profile and detailed analysis of the precious year under review and the current year in focus.
Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu is an Essential Democrat of Phenomenal Essence, desirous of Touching lives and Impacting the people of the South East Geopolitical Zone with projects dotting our landscape via the instrumentality of the South East Geopolitical Commission (SEDC) which he mid-wived and thinkered into existence with the signing into law of the Bill; and successful screening of the Members of the Commission by the Senate, awaiting swearing in of the members of by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
People of the South East Geopolitical Zone have never had it so good in the the genuine effort of Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the South East Geopolitical Zone since after the civil war.
In summation, he reflected on the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, CON, as a man Absolutely consistent with his words…saying with his words…saying whatever words he speaks or whatever he says and a keeper of his own promises.
* Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu promised that the South East Development Commission (SEDC) will be created and indeed it was.
* He promised of an Airport coming to Abia State, it is ongoing
* He promised of Appointment of sons and daughters of the South East Geopolitical Zone into strategic positions. That is obvious and we are still counting our blessings.
