Delegation From Sokoto Visits Owerri To Explore Newly Constructed EIICC

 

A high-powered delegation from the Sokoto State Government, led by Engr. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State and Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, paid a courtesy visit to Owerri, Imo State capital today.

South-East Reporters gathered that the delegation’s focal point was a facility tour of the magnificent Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre (EIICC), a flagship project of the Imo State Government.

In what seemed like a significant demonstration of inter-state collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Sokoto State delegation, comprising Mr Malami Ahmad, Architect Zayyanu Suleiman, and Kabir Lawal, were highly impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities and cutting edge infrastructure that define the EIICC.

Imo State Commissioner for Works, Nze Ralph Nwosu, warmly welcomed the delegation and led them on a comprehensive tour of the facilities.

The delegation were accompanied by the indigenous contractor who executed the project, Mr Benneth Nwokejiobi, who during the tour, gave them every necessary information they needed about the EIICC.

Imo State Commissioner, at the National Population Commission (NPC), Prof Uba Nnabue, joined forces with his Sokoto State counterpart, Engr. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, and his team, underscoring the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect that characterises the relationship between the two states.

The Sokoto State delegation lauded the impeccable design, construction, and functionality of the EIICC, describing it as a marvel of modern architecture.

Engr. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo and his team expressed profound gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodinma for the warm hospitality extended to them, and commended the governor’s visionary leadership in driving infrastructural development in Imo State.

Notably, the Sokoto State Government delegation has expressed keen interest in replicating a similar project in Sokoto State, recognising the immense potential benefits it could bring to the state’s economic and social development.

According to sources within Imo State government, this visit serves as a testament to the growing interest in inter-state collaboration and knowledge sharing.
