The week-long celebration of Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso’s 45th birthday came to a close with a vibrant thanksgiving service that drew youths, community leaders, and religious figures across Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
The thanksgiving, held at the Practicing School in Uzuakoli, was organized by youths from the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency to honor Dr. Anyaso, former Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2023 election.

Attendees described Anyaso’s unwavering devotion to God as “unquantifiable,” noting that the thanksgiving was a symbolic way of giving back glory to God for his life, his journey, and the success of the week-long birthday festivities, which also featured the traditional Iriji Ofuji (New Yam) festival.
Anyaso Attributes Success to God’s Grace
In his brief remarks, Dr. Anyaso said his 45 years on earth were a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
“This day is dedicated entirely to God for His mercies and manifold blessings,” he said. “No man can claim to be the doer if not for Him.”

He further reflected on his journey, calling it “an act of God,” and reaffirmed his faith that God remains his anchor through every challenge.
Outreach to Institutions and Groups Across Bende
Ahead of the thanksgiving, Dr. Anyaso engaged in several outreach activities across Bende and beyond.
He visited the School of Nursing Aba, the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Umuahia, and the Bende Local Government headquarters, where he met with workers.

Anyaso also held sessions with traditional rulers under the Nde Eze and Nde Ugoeze leadership councils, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bende chapter, political stakeholders, as well as women and widows, where he offered cash donations and gifts.
Music, Sermon, and Recognition Awards
The thanksgiving featured the rendition of his favorite hymn, “On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand,” setting the tone for intercessory prayers led by Pastor Okechukwu Dike and a sermon delivered by Pastor Prince Imo.
One of the day’s highlights was the recognition of the OFUJI MOVEMENT coordinator from Item Ward A, who received a cash award for organizing the best Iriji Ofuji 2025 celebration among the 13 wards.

A Leader Grounded in Faith and Service
The thanksgiving underscored Dr. Anyaso’s dual identity as a political leader and a devout Christian whose influence extends beyond politics into community service and faith-driven philanthropy.
Observers say his decision to round off his birthday with worship rather than a lavish party reflects his values and growing influence in Bende politics, particularly among the youth.
