CCTV Captures Shocking Assault on 5-Year-Old in Ekwulobia, Anambra

A shocking case of child assault has been exposed in Ekwulobia, Anambra State, after CCTV footage revealed a 24-year-old man luring a 5-year-old girl into a bush under the guise of sending her on an errand.

The incident came to light when the young girl failed to return home on time, prompting her worried family to question her whereabouts. Her innocent response raised suspicions, leading them to review CCTV footage in the area. The footage showed the suspect leading the child toward a forested area, triggering an immediate search.

Local vigilante groups, acting swiftly, apprehended the suspect. In a subsequent video, the man was seen leading security operatives to the crime scene, where he reportedly confessed to the assault. As is common in such cases, he blamed his actions on the “devil” and pleaded for mercy.

The disturbing nature of the crime has raised questions about whether this was an isolated act of evil or part of a more sinister ritualistic practice. The community is calling for swift justice, with many demanding that the full weight of the law be applied.
