The Abia State Government has unveiled plans for the second edition of the Aba International Trade Fair, setting the stage for what officials describe as a landmark event in the state’s quest to cement its place as Nigeria’s economic hub.
The fair, billed to run from November 28 to December 7, 2025, will be hosted under the theme “Sustaining the Momentum: Unlocking Abia State’s Economic Potential.”
Announcing the event in Umuahia, Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu said the trade fair reflects the Otti administration’s strategic push to expand opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate organizations while boosting Abia’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“Abia is open for business, and we are going to accommodate every trader and exhibitor willing to showcase their businesses,” Emetu assured.

Organized by the state government through the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in partnership with the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA) and the Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (UCCIMA), the fair is expected to draw local and international exhibitors across key sectors.

Outgoing Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha, emphasized that the event has been carefully planned to provide a seamless experience for participants. He urged business owners, investors, and the public to seize the opportunity to network, collaborate, and explore Abia’s growing market potential.
With the fair projected to boost economic activity, create new partnerships, and reposition the state as a regional commercial powerhouse, stakeholders believe the 2025 edition will surpass previous outings and consolidate Aba’s reputation as the heartbeat of trade and industry in Nigeria.
