The Aba Business Community yesterday played host to Gov Alex Otti of Abia State, showing their commitment and support to the governor’s Abia State Security Trust Fund.
The well attended event, which held at the prestigious Aba Sports Club had in attendance business moguls,representatives of corporate bodies and professionals from all walks of life.
Speaking during the event,the chairman of Greater Aba Development Authority ( GADA),and renowned international businessman,Ide John Udeagbala, extolled the sterling performance of Gov Otti since his assumption of office. He observed that the first security summit in Umuahia did not sufficiently capture Aba Business Community,and so the people of Aba invited the governor to the hold the event in Aba to show their support and make their own contribution to the state’s efforts at curbing insecurity in the state.
In his opening remarks, chairman of the occasion High Chief Leo Ike Okoye (Uduakomili),thanked the governor for the revolution taking place in Abia, revealing that he spends more time in Aba ,and no more goes to other cities to relax. He donated N50 million to the security trust fund.
Delivering his keynote address,Mazi Jude Nwosu , Director Crunchies Fried Chicken Ltd,pointed out that the value of real estate in Aba has skyrocketed because of the roads and other infrastructure put in place by the Gov Otti administration.
He said a landed property that was purchased for N40 million along Port Harcourt road in 2022 was now valued at N300 million in 2025. He later donated N10 million on behalf of Crunchies Fried Chicken and N5 million in his personal capacity.
Other notable donors were Ide John Udeagbala N5 million, Chief Greg Okafor N26.5 million, anonymous donors N120 million,UOO Estates N5 million,Aba South Indigenes N2 million, Anambra Community N2 million,Singe Obi N10 million, Chief Nkene Enukeme N2 million,Hon Emeka Nnamani N3 million, Chief Udeigbo ( Chairman Aba Landlords and Property Owners Development Association) N1.7 million, Jesus Holy Ministry N2 million,and hundreds of others.
In hi remarks,Gov Otti thanked the people of Aba for always supporting his administration, stating that he does not take their support for granted. He reassured that his government will not compromise on the issue of security.
He observed that the most important thing is that the people of Aba have bought into the government’s agenda for top notch security,and promised that all funds collected will be judiciously utilised and accounted for in a transparent manner.
